If your child is being bullied, please, don’t just tell them to “ignore it.” They need tools, not silence. They need your voice reminding them that they’re not alone, and that it’s okay to speak up. Here are 3 powerful ways to help your child respond to bullying: 1️⃣ Name the behavior: Say, “That sounds like bullying behavior. No one deserves to be treated that way.” 2️⃣ Practice power scripts: Help them say, “That’s not okay,” or “Cut it out,” until the words feel natural and strong. 3️⃣ Offer backup plans: Give them language to ask for help, “I’m not okay with this”, and walk toward safety, not just away. And remember, telling an adult is not tattling. It’s standing up for yourself. You’re not raising a target. You’re raising a voice. Let’s help our kids learn how to use it. 📘 I share more on how to talk to kids about bullying, boundaries, and bravery in my book How to Talk to Kids About Anything.
