When your teen asks, “Are you disappointed in me?”, it can stop you in your tracks. This is a moment that matters. Try saying: “Nothing you do will ever stop me from loving you. I might not love every choice, but I always love you. I’m so glad you came to me, tell me what’s on your mind.” Why does this work? It reassures them that your love isn’t conditional. It reminds them they’re safe with you, even when they mess up or feel ashamed. Short. Simple. And it keeps the door open so they can talk it through with you instead of shutting down. Your kids need to know they are more than their mistakes. Save this for when you need it, and share below: Have you ever had a moment like this with your teen?
