Hey parents! Don’t do these 5️⃣ things if you want your kid to grow up and be kind and empathetic: 1️⃣ Overprotect - Let kids learn from their own mistakes. Challenges = learning! 2️⃣ Rescue Immediately - Guide them in problem-solving instead of solving it all. 3️⃣ Ignore Emotions - Validate feelings so kids express emotions constructively. 4️⃣ Overpraise - Balanced feedback builds healthy self-esteem. 5️⃣ Shield from Challenges - Encourage appropriate risks + responsibilities for independence. My Parenting Moment
✨ Parenting isn’t about being perfect—it’s about staying connected. One of my proudest moments as a mom was when my teen told me, “I tell my mom everything.” Even the awkward stuff. Even the tough stuff. When kids know they can come to us—without judgment—we win more than just a conversation, we win their trust. Let’s keep talking, listening, and showing up. That’s where the magic happens. Follow @dr.robynsilverman for more real-life parenting wins and strategies you can use today. #ParentingWin #ParentingTips #ParentingTeens #ParentingGoals #ParentingAdvice #PositiveParenting #ParentingJourney #RaisingTeens #CommunicationSkills #FamilyConnection #TalkingWithKids #ParentingSupport #ParentingMoments #LeadershipAtHome #ConnectedParenting

Powerful Question You can Ask Your Child Today #shorts
Pride builds confidence. When we ask, “What’s something you did today that you’re proud of?” we help our children notice their wins—big or small—and remind them that progress matters more than perfection. 🌟 #SelfEsteemBoost #PositiveParenting #RaisingConfidentKids #ParentingTips #DrRobynSilverman

Ways your childs identity may be holding them back! #shorts
Your child’s identity shapes how they see themselves—and how far they believe they can go. If they’re stuck on “I’m awful at math” or “I’m shy,” they may start building their entire identity on limitations instead of strengths. Replace weakness with strength. Here’s the shift: ✔️ Replace limiting labels with positive ones ✔️ Replace outcome praise with process praise When kids see themselves through the lens of growth, effort, and their real strengths, they don’t just feel better about who they are—they step into who they can become. Follow @dr.robynsilverman for more scripts and strategies that help kids build confidence from the inside out. #ParentingTips #HowToTalkToKids #ChildDevelopment #GrowthMindset #PositiveParenting #RaisingConfidentKids #EmotionalIntelligence #ParentingSupport #DrRobynSilverman

3 Ways to Help Your Kids Against Bullying #shorts
When your child is being bullied, telling them to “just walk away” can leave them feeling powerless. Instead, we can teach them tools that give their power back. Help them walk toward safety and support, not just away. Make sure they know exactly which adults they can count on. And most importantly, ask them how they want you to support them. Because bullying strips kids of power—but connection, guidance, and presence restores it. Let’s raise kids who know they’re never alone. #BullyingPrevention #ParentingTips #HowToTalkToKids #ParentingScripts #ChildDevelopment #RaisingConfidentKids #ParentingSupport

When our kids see or hear about violence in the news or online, they may feel confused, scared, or even angry. These are the moments when our conversations matter most. 💬 Remind them: People will always have different opinions — sometimes very strong ones — but violence is never the answer. 💬 Teach them: When we feel upset, frustrated, or hurt, we can pause, breathe, and calm our bodies before responding. 💬 Guide them: If they feel like their dignity or rights are being challenged, they can come to us or another trusted adult to talk it through and decide what steps to take. At the heart of it, I often say: “Respecting the dignity of others depends first on finding the humanity in ourselves.” Let’s help our kids learn that even in difficult, divisive times, talking it out is always more powerful than acting out. 💕 Sending my sincerest condolences to the Kirk family during this difficult time and all other families coping with the fallout from political and other tragic gun violence. The world feels heavy now. Hug your family. Connect. It’s the most important thing. #HowToTalkToKids #ParentingTips #EmotionalRegulation #DrRobyn #ParentingSupport #BigFeelings #ParentingTools #RaisingResilientKids #ConnectionMatters #RespectAndDignity

How to Face Tension Between You and Your Kids #shorts
Ever notice how the moment you walk into your child’s room, you can feel the tension—or the calm—before a word is even spoken? That’s no accident. Kids often mirror the “weather” we bring with us. Start with connection before correction. A smile, eye contact, or a calm presence can shift the whole tone of the interaction. Because here’s the truth: how we greet our kids is teaching them how to greet the world. It’s not about being perfect—it’s about being intentional. Our presence sets the pace. #ParentingTips #ConnectionBeforeCorrection #PositiveParenting #ParentingTools #ChildDevelopment #HowToTalkToKids #PeacefulParenting
