3️⃣ things you can do to help your kids manage big feelings: #shorts

3️⃣ things you can do to help your kids manage big feelings: Distraction can be an effective strategy for helping children manage big emotions by providing a break from intense feelings, allowing them to reset and regain control. While processing big emotions is important, sometimes distraction can be a good stop pitstop first because it can: 1️⃣ Interrupts the Anxiety Spiral:  Distraction can prevent children from getting stuck in a loop of negative thoughts. Distractions can take your child away just long enough to provide some perspective and give the body a chance to reset and calm down. 2️⃣ Provides a Break:  Engaging in a different activity can help shift the focus from the source of stress to something more enjoyable or neutral, giving children time to decompress. 3️⃣ Promotes Emotional Regulation:  By teaching children to use distraction techniques, parents help them develop tools for self-regulation that can be used throughout their lives. Don’t do these 5️⃣ things if you want your kid to grow up and be kind and empathetic 🫨 #shorts

Don’t do these 5️⃣ things if you want your kid to grow up and be kind and empathetic 🫨 1️⃣ Overprotect: Allow your kids to experience and learn from their own mistakes. Challenges are valuable learning opportunities. 2️⃣ Rescue Immediately: Avoid jumping in to solve every problem. Instead, guide them in developing problem-solving skills and resilience. 3️⃣ Ignore Emotions: Validate your children's feelings, helping them recognize and express their emotions constructively. 4️⃣ Overpraise: Provide balanced and constructive feedback rather than constant praise, fostering a realistic and healthy self-esteem. 5️⃣ Shield from Challenges: Encourage your kids to take on appropriate risks and responsibilities, promoting independence and confidence.
